Education from a Biblical worldview
Not a Bible class added to a standard curriculum. Every subject is taught from a Biblical understanding of the world, so Christ is at the center of the whole school day.
No tax funding. No government control.
CCA is non-chartered by conviction, not by circumstance. No state formula decides what your child is taught — the school answers to the families it serves, and to Scripture.
Three ways to enroll
Every family’s season is different, so enrollment comes in three shapes. Whichever you choose, the office keeps complete student records, issues grade cards, and includes Alpha Omega diagnostic testing — and your student belongs to the whole life of the school.
Full Time
At school every class day
Students attend every class day offered — including chapel services, field trips, and the extracurricular classes appropriate for their grade.
Part Time
Two days a week at school
Students attend two days each school week, plus chapel services and field trips, and follow our learning-center rhythm at home on the other days with in-house curriculum from the office.
Independent Instruction
Home-based, with CCA behind you
Instruction happens primarily at home. Students may join chapel services, field trips, and up to two afternoon classes each week as space allows, while parents submit quarterly evaluations and CCA provides records, grade cards, and testing.

Community Christian Academy opened its doors in 1990 with a handful of families and a simple conviction: that a child’s education and a child’s faith were never meant to be separated.
More than three decades later, that conviction has not softened. We remain small on purpose — small enough that every teacher knows every child by name, and every family is known by the school.
In our own words

What we believe
Our statement of faith is offered as a summary of historic, orthodox Christian belief. It is not intended to identify the Academy with any particular church or denomination.
We believe…
- …that both Old and New Testament, and these alone, constitute the Divinely Inspired Word of God in the original languages and manuscripts.
- …in one God existing eternally in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
- …that the Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of God, was born of the Virgin Mary, became man without ceasing to be God, in order that He might reveal God and redeem sinful man.
- …that the Holy Spirit came forth from the Father and the Son to convict the world of sin, of righteousness, and of judgment; and to regenerate, sanctify, comfort and seal those who believe in Jesus Christ.
- …that man is totally depraved in that of himself he is utterly unable to remedy his lost condition.
- …that salvation is the gift of God brought to man by grace and received by personal faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, whose atoning blood was shed on the cross for the forgiveness of sins.
- …in the water baptism of believers, symbolizing the believer’s union in the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ.

Tim Davies
Founder
Tim Davies is an 8-year veteran of the U.S. Navy and has served in ministry for more than 37 years. During that time, he founded and pastored Apostolic Restoration Center (ARC) and Community Christian Academy (CCA) in Genoa, Ohio, and helped establish RAIN Bible School. He also serves as Vice President of Resurrection Apostolic International Network (RAIN), and has ministered internationally in India, Germany, Mexico, Guatemala, Kenya, Holland, and the Dominican Republic.
Tim earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Toledo and a Master of Biblical Studies, with a focus on Christian Education, from Ashland Theological Seminary in Ashland, Ohio. He has served the Genoa area through more than 20 years of involvement with the Chamber of Commerce, and currently serves as Chaplain for the Allen-Clay Joint Fire District.
Together, Tim and Jeanne are passionate about instilling a Biblical and Kingdom-centered worldview in the next generation.
Jeanne Davies
Principal & Administrator
Jeanne Davies has been directly involved in Community Christian Academy since 1995. She began teaching the Learning to Read Program when her two youngest children were enrolled. She worked in the school office since 2000 and began teaching in the Learning Center in 2007. In 2012, Jeanne became the principal of CCA.
Jeanne is a graduate of Liberty University with a Bachelor of Science degree. She also graduated from RAIN Bible College with a diploma in Biblical Studies and Owens Community College with an associate’s degree in accounting.
Jeanne and her husband Tim have 5 children and 18 grandchildren. She feels privileged to have been involved in her children and some grandchildren’s education.
Elaina Widmer
1st grade & Learning to Read
Elaina Widmer works with the first-grade classroom and Learning to Read students. She graduated from CCA in 2024 and has received her Associate’s Degree in English from Terra State Community College. She is currently working on completing a Bachelor’s Degree in English from Liberty Online University. Elaina has experience in early childhood education, and is passionate about giving kids a good Christian foundation to their academic careers.
Sarah Heuring
2nd & 3rd grade teacher
Sarah Heuring has worked with children her whole adult life, teaching preschool in her early twenties before raising her own family. She and her husband Bob have four boys, and their family has been part of CCA for six years. Sarah is also a personal trainer and fitness instructor at the YMCA, where she has taught since 2016. She holds an associate degree in business management and completes her bachelor’s degree in ministry through Bible college this year.
James Bragg
Middle & high school teacher
Mr. Bragg has a political science degree from BGSU. He has had the opportunity to teach overseas in South Korea and Shanghai. After returning from overseas he had the opportunity to work with Camp Storer’s school year outdoor education program. Since 2020, Mr. Bragg has had the pleasure to serve the parents and students of CCA.

Karen Barnes teaches art at CCA. She is the mother of eight children, seven of whom have graduated from Community Christian Academy; the eighth graduates at the end of this school year. Trained as an LPN and a certified Independent Provider, she has been involved at CCA for 30 years — on field trips, helping facilitate gym and art, and helping with the academics.

We serve grades one through twelve, and our Learning to Read program takes kindergarten-age children through their first year of reading. Regular classes run Monday through Thursday, 9:00 AM to 3:15 PM. The third Friday of each month is a school field trip, and the remaining Fridays are remote-learning days at home.
Full-time students attend every class day. Part-time students attend two days each week and work at home the rest, following our learning-center rhythm. Independent Instruction families school primarily at home while CCA keeps complete records, issues grade cards, and provides testing — and every program includes chapel services and field trips.
No. CCA is an independent Christian school — not affiliated with or governed by any particular church or denomination. We serve Christian families from many congregations, and we ask every family to understand that all of school life flows from a Biblical worldview.
CCA teaches with Alpha Omega Publications curriculum — LifePac workbooks and the Ignitia online program — chosen so each student can move at their own pace with a consistent, Biblically grounded standard. Diagnostic testing is included in every program.
By conviction, no. State accreditation is a governmental mechanism built for government schools, so CCA does not seek accreditation from any outside educational institution — while endeavoring to provide the highest possible academic program. Colleges evaluate applicants on their own academic merit through nationally standardized tests, not the name of their school, and our graduates enroll on that basis.
Tuition depends on your student’s grade level and the program you choose. Families with three or more full-time students pay a reduced family rate, supporting-church families pay less, and parents who volunteer weekly earn a monthly discount. You can pay monthly, or pay for the year up front and take a discount for doing so. Contact the office for current rates — cost is rarely the reason a child cannot attend.
